My foundation is unusual: a 4.0 GPA in Biological Sciences and a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential, earned through hands-on training across six surgical specialties including cardiovascular surgery, orthopedics, labor and delivery, and ENT. That's not a footnote. It shaped how I think about systems, precision, and risk.

Aseptic technique, the discipline of maintaining sterile conditions where contamination is invisible until catastrophic, isn't just a clinical skill. It's a philosophy I carry into every business system I build. No acceptable shortcuts. Every failure mode anticipated. Every process designed so that quality is built in, not inspected for.

Across 15+ years I've held executive positions simultaneously, CEO, COO, CMO, CFO, at companies I built from the ground up. I've operated heavy equipment and worked the mechanical elements of a logistics business, from forklifts to freight systems. The Aseptic Technique Mindset

Aseptic technique is the discipline of maintaining a sterile environment where contamination cannot be tolerated, because by the time contamination becomes visible, it's already too late. You don't take shortcuts. You don't make exceptions. You design every protocol so that failure is structurally prevented, not merely discouraged.

I trained in this discipline as a Certified Surgical Technologist with a 4.0 in Biological Sciences, working across high-acuity cases in cardiovascular, orthopedic, OB/GYN, ENT, and general surgery. I've managed the instrument table during open-heart procedures. I've maintained sterile fields during total hip replacements. I've provided intraoperative support during high-risk labor and delivery cases including C-sections.

That experience forged a standard of operational precision that I've never lowered. And I apply it directly to business, to how systems get built, how quality gets defined, how risks get anticipated and prevented rather than reacted to after the fact.

The parallel between surgical precision and business system design runs deeper than most people expect. In both contexts, invisible failure modes are the most dangerous kind. A process that looks fine from the outside but has a contamination point in the middle will produce failures that seem random and unpredictable, until someone maps the system precisely enough to see the source.

That's what I do in business: map systems at the level of precision that reveals the actual failure points, not the obvious surface symptoms. Then design the fix so the problem is structurally impossible, not just harder to create.

Aseptic technique is important in life, not just in the OR. Precision matters. Contamination (of data, of process, of culture) is invisible until it's catastrophic. And the discipline to maintain standards even when no one is watching is what separates organizations that scale from organizations that collapse under their own growth.
